Welcome to my first blog post since I removed my business page, Arlene Magid Pedigree Research, from Facebook. At the time it was unpublished, it had been active for a decade and had 11,550 people who liked it (none through paid advertising with Facebook). I would like to clarify why I removed such a successful and popular resource. The main issue was TIME. Here are the three reasons I removed the page, to stop rumors and eliminate all doubt:

(1) My business page was increasingly difficult to police from disrupters and trolls. This was taking a great deal of my time away from my paid work for clients and other activities. Business pages cannot have commenting on posts turned off as it can be in Facebook groups. Had I been able to post and turn off comments, the page could have remained on Facebook. After a decade it was apparent that unless I kept watch on my page often during my work day, there would be trouble.

(2) I was getting personal messages daily from people who felt entitled to free information on their personal horses "since you post free stuff on a lot of other horses". When I told those who had sent messages that work not on my page was part of my livelihood, many became angry. Some went as far as name calling me or commenting how nasty a person I am in Facebook groups and on their own pages.

(3) About five times a day I received personal messages from lazy people who just wanted questions answered that they could easily find answers for themselves if they used a Google search. They too would become irate if I refused to take time to help them and would post on Facebook that I was unfriendly and uncooperative, or nasty.

Given the circumstances above, I felt that the business page on Facebook no longer served my business well. I established it a decade ago to help educate people interested in Arabians, and to showcase my work to encourage those who saw it on Facebook to do business with me for projects involving their own horses.

Therefore, I will be doing one educational post per week here on my blog. I am also now doing a newsletter with in depth information which contains two magazine length articles per month. Response to the first issue has been extremely favorable (please see the newsletter page of this website).

Since I have noticed that none of the major breed publications have offered information on the newly named Scottsdale Champions, here is a listing of the major winners. I have not included championship classes in which purebreds and Half-Arabians competed together (dressage), Scottsdale Signature Champions, or amateur ridden champions.
